Marina started her dog training career at Petco in Hawaii Kai, Hawaii in 2017. She became a certified dog trainer thru Petco and hosted puppy classes all the way through Canine Good Citizen. She is an American Kennel Club CGC Evaluator as well. She started up with Catch Canine Trainers Academy shorter after leaving Petco and graduated as a Master Dog Trainer in 2023. She hosts classes Online and in the Brookings, Oregon area.

Marina is very empowered by holistic health coaching and often integrates this kind of work into behavior modification in dog training. She believes a lot of behavioral issues can often come from physical ailments happening in the body as well as proper nutrition!
She achieved her health coaching certificate from the Institute For Integrative Nutrition in 2018 and has been doing a lot of her own research as a healthy coach for pets as well as people. She has most recently been studying pet food industry and has taken Dogs Naturally Magaziine course as a Pet Food Nutritional Specialist. She is proud of her honest and comprehensive research into best foods for our pets and would love to share education about the truth about our food and medical industry so people can be better informed about how to properly take care of their pets.
Frequently Asked Questions
When can I start training?
Most puppies are adopted at 8 weeks or general age when they are weaned from the mother. I can start private lessons online at your home as early as you would like. However, to join a class, it is your decision whether you want to get your puppy vaccinated prior to socialization events. I do not require vaccines. I do not typically work in a facility, I work in public places where dogs typically go to work on generalized distractions. Please contact me if your puppy is not fully vaccinated yet, there are training sessions and possible play dates I can host in a safe and clean way so that your puppy may benefit from socialization during the critical socialization period – 2 weeks of age until 14 weeks (which is generally by the time the vaccination period is done, bad timing!)
There are no age maximums when it comes to training, unless the dog is becoming senile or disabled. It is UNTRUE that an old dog can’t learn new tricks… I had a 14 year old golden retriever who wouldn’t respond to her name when her parent first came to me for training. I was able to get the basics from her within about 2-3 weeks!

Marina is a Catch Certified (Master) Dog Trainer in positive reinforcement techniques and is dedicated to providing the best & most holistic training experience for your dog. She has been a professional dog trainer since 2017 where she started puppy classes thru Canine Good Citizen at Petco and then started Marina's Animal Adventures LLC in 2019.
She also has a certificate from The Institute For Integrative Nutrition as a Health Coach and currently studies Functional Medicine and Herbalism for Pets and People. Her newest business program is Rooted Pets & People: A Sapien & Fauna program.
Sapien and Fauna is the root (latin) name for People and Pets and she is proud to utilize knowledge from our ancient ancestors and modern companies with incredible supplements, when it comes to proper nutrition, functional medicine and overall excellent daily wellness.
